Delhi airport taxi: terminals, waiting time and fares explained

How pickups work at IGI Terminals 1, 2 and 3 — where the cab waits, how much free waiting time you get, and what a fair fixed fare looks like.

Know your terminal before you book

Terminal 3 handles international flights and most full-service domestic departures. Terminal 2 and Terminal 1 handle low-cost domestic carriers. The terminals are several kilometres apart, so a wrong terminal on a booking means a 20-minute correction and a parking charge.

Where the cab actually meets you

Pre-booked cabs wait in the paid parking area, not at the arrival kerb, because kerbside stopping is not permitted for long. The standard flow: clear baggage, call the driver, walk to the pillar number he gives you.

Waiting time and flight delays

We track the flight number on every airport pickup, so a delayed landing does not cost you the booking. Free waiting is 45 minutes from actual landing on international arrivals and 30 minutes on domestic. After that, waiting is billed at ₹150 per hour.

What a fair fare looks like

Drop locationSedanSUV
Central Delhi₹1,299₹1,899
Noida / Greater Noida₹1,499₹2,199
Gurugram₹1,399₹1,999
Ghaziabad₹1,599₹2,299

These are fixed fares, inclusive of airport parking and toll. There is no surge multiplier at 2 AM, which is the main reason people move to a pre-booked cab after one bad app experience.

Booking tips

  • Share your flight number, not just the time.
  • Book at least four hours ahead for night arrivals.
  • Count your bags honestly — four suitcases do not fit in a sedan.
